Bihar Congress Unveils Dual Initiatives: Digital Membership Drive and Gandhian Training Program

The Bihar Congress has officially launched two significant programs aimed at strengthening the party's grassroots presence and ideological foundation. State Congress president Rajesh Ram inaugurated these initiatives over the weekend, marking a strategic push to expand membership and train workers in core values.

Digital Membership Campaign: 'Srijan Saathi Jansampark Abhiyan'

On Friday, Rajesh Ram launched the statewide digital membership drive, titled 'Srijan Saathi Jansampark Abhiyan'. This campaign allows any individual aged 18 years or above to enroll as a Srijan Saathi, provided they are not affiliated with any other political party and subscribe to the Congress ideology. The initiative represents a modern approach to political recruitment, leveraging digital platforms to reach a broader audience.

The party has set specific enrollment targets for key functionaries to ensure widespread participation:

  • District presidents: 2,000 members each
  • Block presidents: 200 members each
  • State vice-presidents: 3,000 members each
  • General secretaries: 2,000 members each
  • State secretaries: 1,000 members each

Additionally, aspirants for district-level posts within the party are required to enroll at least 200 members, further incentivizing active recruitment efforts.

Gandhian Training Program: 'Sarvodaya Sankalp Shivir'

On Saturday, Rajesh Ram inaugurated a three-day training program called 'Sarvodaya Sankalp Shivir' at the party headquarters in Patna. This program is designed for 40 selected workers who were shortlisted from a pool of 100 identified candidates. The training focuses on the principles of Mahatma Gandhi, including truth, non-violence, and Sarvodaya, which emphasizes the upliftment of all sections of society.

The curriculum also covers Gandhi's life and work ethic, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of his philosophies. After completing the training, these workers will be deployed at district and block units to disseminate these values and strengthen the party's ideological framework at the local level.

Organizational Support and Leadership Involvement

The training camp is being organized with support from both the All India Congress Committee and the state unit of the party. National program coordinator and former Director General of Police (DGP) Varun Sagar addressed the inaugural session, highlighting the importance of such initiatives in building a resilient party structure.

This dual approach of combining digital outreach with traditional ideological training reflects the Bihar Congress's strategy to adapt to contemporary political landscapes while staying rooted in foundational principles. The programs are expected to enhance party cohesion and expand its influence across the state.
