Chaos at Patliputra Station as Delayed Train Triggers Student Protest
In Bihar, a train delay ahead of a major recruitment examination sparked widespread protests among students at Patliputra Junction railway station. The incident, which occurred on Wednesday, led to chaotic scenes as hundreds of candidates, scheduled to appear for the exam, found themselves stranded due to the late arrival of the train.
Students Voice Anger Over Missed Exam Opportunity
The students, many of whom had traveled long distances, expressed frustration and anger over the delay, which they claimed could cost them their chance at the recruitment exam. They staged a protest on the railway tracks, demanding immediate action from authorities.
Railway officials, however, stated that the train was delayed due to technical reasons and assured that alternative arrangements were being made. The protest caused disruption to train services on the route, with several trains being delayed or diverted.
Local police were called in to manage the situation and persuade the students to vacate the tracks. After hours of negotiations, the protest was called off, and the students were provided with alternate transportation to reach their exam centers.
The incident highlights the challenges faced by students in rural areas where train services are often unreliable, especially during critical events like recruitment exams.
