Bihar Govt Reshuffles 10 IAS Officers in Admin Move

The Bihar state government on Friday effected a major reshuffle of 10 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, including three in the rank of additional chief secretary (ACS). The changes also saw the governor's secretary, Gopal Meena, being relieved of his posting as he moves to the Union commercial taxes department on central deputation.

Key Appointments and Transfers

Deepak Kumar Singh, who was serving as director general-cum-chief inquiry officer in the general administration department (GAD), has been appointed as principal secretary to the governor. He will continue to hold his earlier post as an additional charge.

Gopal Meena, who has moved to Delhi on central deputation, has been appointed as development commissioner in the rank of joint secretary of the Noida special economic zone under the Union commercial taxes department.

Changes in Home and Cabinet Secretariat

Additional chief secretary of the home department, Arvind Kumar Choudhary, has been transferred to the cabinet secretariat department in the same capacity. He will also continue to hold the additional charge of examination controller in the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board, besides serving as chairman of the Bihar Staff Selection Commission.

Additional Charges for B Rajender

The 1995-batch IAS officer B Rajender, who is ACS in the general administration department, has been given the additional charge of the vigilance department in the same rank. He already holds additional responsibilities relating to public grievances, mission director in the Administrative Reforms Mission Society, and director general of the Bihar Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development (Bipard).

Other Key Changes

  • Industries department secretary Kundan Kumar has been given the additional charge of the home department.
  • Finance department secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh has been relieved of the additional charge of inquiry commissioner in the GAD.
  • Bihar Human Rights Commission secretary Seema Tripathi has been given the additional charge of secretary in the revenue and land reforms department.
  • Special secretary in the civil aviation department, Nilesh Ramchandra Deware, has been assigned the additional charge of managing director of the Bihar State Housing Board.
  • Managing director of the State Educational Infrastructure Development Corporation, Inayat Khan, will also hold the additional charge of special secretary in the revenue and land reforms department.
  • Special secretary in the cabinet secretariat department, Arvind Kumar Verma, has been given the additional charge of special secretary in the industries department.
  • Managing director of the Bihar State Housing Board, Rajeev Kumar, has been transferred and posted as additional secretary in the finance department.

This reshuffle is part of the state government's routine administrative adjustments to streamline governance and fill key positions with experienced officers.
