Birender Singh Invites Hooda for Sadbhav Yatra Event

Rohtak: Former Union minister Birender Singh announced on Thursday that he would extend an invitation to former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda to attend the culmination ceremony of the Sadbhav Yatra, led by his son and former MP Brijendra Singh, scheduled for May 23. The yatra, a state-wide foot march, is set to complete its tour across all 90 Assembly segments of Haryana.

Reviving Party Morale

Addressing mediapersons in Rohtak, Birender Singh highlighted that the Sadbhav Yatra emerged as a significant learning experience and played a crucial role in reviving the morale of Congress workers after the party's defeat in the 2024 Haryana Assembly elections. He emphasized that the yatra helped reconnect grassroots workers with the party at the Assembly segment level.

"Wherever the yatra reached, Congress workers again started engaging actively with the organisation," Birender stated. He further noted that the participation of senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during the Gurgaon leg of the yatra sent a positive message among party workers.

Unity in Congress

Birender Singh expressed optimism that the yatra would foster unity within the Haryana Congress, which has often been perceived as divided into factions. He remarked that many people now expect the party to come together on a single platform to challenge the ruling BJP in the state. The culmination ceremony is anticipated to be a significant event, symbolizing the collective effort to strengthen the party's presence ahead of future elections.
