Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu has accused both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) of secretly collaborating while publicly projecting themselves as rivals. Speaking at a public meeting in Mancherial on Saturday, after distributing compassionate appointment letters to 335 beneficiaries, he launched a scathing attack on both parties, alleging that they are deceiving the public through political theatrics.
Allegations Against BRS and BJP
Bhatti claimed that the previous BRS government caused losses worth thousands of crores to Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL). He stated that SCCL was deliberately weakened by preventing it from participating in coal block auctions. “We will not allow vultures, brokers, or exploiters to enter Singareni. Singareni belongs to the people of Telangana,” he asserted.
The Deputy Chief Minister further alleged that BRS and BJP have jointly conspired against Singareni while pretending to oppose each other publicly. He pointed to coordinated statements made by BRS leader Harish Rao and Union Minister Kishan Reddy as evidence of their political understanding.
Compassionate Appointments Accelerated
Addressing the issue of dependent employment in Singareni, Bhatti said that the government has expedited the long-pending compassionate appointment process. He assured that applications from other eligible candidates would soon be reviewed, and appointment letters would be distributed through similar public events in the future.
Bhatti emphasized that the present government does not use power to facilitate exploitation. Recalling his padayatra through Adilabad district when he was the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader, he said he personally interacted with coal miners and understood their hardships. He reminded workers that during the padayatra, he had promised that an 'Indiramma Rajyam' would protect Singareni as an asset of Telangana’s people.
Political Context
Bhatti stated that the people of Telangana had already punished BRS in the assembly elections for alleged corruption and mismanagement. He warned both BRS and BJP against misleading workers and the public. The Deputy Chief Minister’s remarks come amid ongoing political tensions in the state, with the ruling Congress party seeking to consolidate its position.
The event in Mancherial highlighted the government’s focus on addressing employment issues and countering opposition narratives. Bhatti’s strong words reflect the Congress party’s strategy to expose what it perceives as collusion between BRS and BJP.
