BJP MLA Rajeshwar Singh Hails UP Recruitment Transparency

Lucknow: BJP MLA Rajeshwar Singh on Saturday asserted that Uttar Pradesh has witnessed a significant transformation in government recruitment and youth empowerment under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He contrasted this with the alleged corruption and caste-based favoritism that prevailed during the previous Samajwadi Party (SP) government.

Allegations Against Previous Government

In a statement, Singh claimed that before 2017, recruitment processes in the state were plagued by recommendation-based selections, casteism, and corruption. He alleged that over 600 recruitment drives conducted between 2012 and 2017 were mired in controversy. Additionally, around 45,000 posts faced scrutiny, and more than 700 petitions seeking cancellation of recruitments and CBI probes were filed in courts.

Specific Irregularities Cited

Singh provided specific examples, highlighting serious irregularities in the PCS-2011 recruitment process. He alleged that 56 out of 86 selected Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) belonged to a single caste group, indicating caste-based bias.
