BJP MLA's Son Files Extortion Case Against Political Rivals in Alwar

Mohit Yadav, the president of the Alwar District Cricket Association and son of BJP MLA from Bahrod and former minister Jaswant Yadav, has lodged a formal police complaint against six named individuals. The accused are alleged to be workers associated with former MLA Baljeet Yadav, and the case centers on serious extortion threats demanding a payment of Rs 50 lakh.

Details of the Alleged Extortion Incident

In his detailed complaint, Yadav recounted a harrowing incident that occurred on March 10. He stated that while returning from an event, the six men intercepted his car in a deserted area near Kanhavas. They surrounded his vehicle with sticks and batons, hurled abuses, and explicitly threatened him to pay Rs 50 lakh within five days, warning that failure to comply would result in his death. The accused fled the scene only when other vehicles approached from behind, according to Yadav's account.

Escalation Through Social Media and Previous Attacks

Yadav further alleged that after he did not pay the demanded money, the situation escalated. The accused began making indecent remarks against him on various social media platforms. Specifically, on March 21, one of the accused, Virender Singh, is said to have threatened Yadav directly through a video call via Facebook Messenger, intensifying the intimidation.

Adding to the gravity of the case, Yadav claimed that some of the accused had previously made two life-threatening attacks on him. Reports of these earlier incidents were registered at the Bahrod and Mandhan police stations, indicating a pattern of alleged harassment and violence.

Background of the Event and Police Response

The incident on March 10 took place after Yadav attended the annual function of a gaushala located in Mandhan, where he was invited as the chief guest. He reported that around 8 PM, while returning to Bahrod, the accused arrived in a numberless Scorpio vehicle and stopped his car, leading to the confrontation.

Mandhan SHO Kiran Singh Yadav confirmed that the allegations are under active investigation. "The allegations are being investigated, and necessary legal action against the accused will be taken soon," stated the SHO, assuring that the police are taking the matter seriously and will proceed according to the law.

Political and Social Implications

This case highlights potential political tensions in the region, given the involvement of individuals linked to former MLA Baljeet Yadav. The allegations of extortion and threats against a prominent figure like Mohit Yadav, who holds a significant position in local cricket administration and is the son of a BJP MLA, could have broader implications for local politics and law enforcement accountability.

The incident underscores concerns about safety and the use of intimidation tactics in political rivalries, prompting calls for swift justice and enhanced security measures for public figures in Alwar.
