BJP Challenges Owaisi's Demand for Separate Muslim Political Leadership in Telangana
In a sharp political rebuke, BJP state president N Ramchander Rao on Monday strongly objected to AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi's recent call for the establishment of a separate Muslim political leadership. Rao questioned the necessity of such a demand, pointing directly to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's own declaration that "Muslims are Congress, Congress is Muslims."
Contradiction in Leadership Claims
Reacting to Owaisi's remarks made during the West Bengal assembly election campaign, Rao highlighted what he called a fundamental contradiction. "If, as Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has stated, the Congress party stands firmly with Muslims, then there is absolutely no logical basis for demanding a separate political leadership," Rao asserted. He emphasized that numerous Muslim leaders are already integral members of the Congress party, holding positions and influencing policy.
Rao elaborated that Owaisi's argument that Muslims lack leadership while other social groups like OBCs, SCs, BCs, and Patels have established leadership structures ignores the existing political reality. "This narrative is misleading and does not reflect the ground situation where Muslim voices are represented within mainstream political frameworks," he added.

"Such provocative statements are aimed at creating unnecessary divisions in society for narrow political mileage," Rao charged.
