Gorakhpur: Workers of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) staged a protest on Sunday against Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav at Indra Vihar Tiraha. The demonstration was held in response to an alleged objectionable comment made against BJP state chief Pankaj Chaudhary from a social media account reportedly linked to the IT cell of the Samajwadi Party.

As part of the protest, BJYM workers burned an effigy of the SP chief and raised slogans such as “Akhilesh Tum Maafi Maango” while carrying placards. BJP supporters and members of the Kurmi community termed the alleged remark an insult not only to a political leader but also to the dignity and self-respect of the community.
Reactions from BJYM Leaders
Speaking to reporters, BJYM regional general secretary Ambikesh Dhar Dubey alleged that the SP had stooped to “low-level politics” and accused it of undermining democratic values. BJYM regional vice-president Satyendra Sinha also criticised the opposition party, stating that it had forgotten the role of a constructive opposition and was indulging in personal attacks. “He (Akhilesh) appears frustrated as the SP’s political hold in Uttar Pradesh is weakening. The people of the state will teach them a lesson in the 2027 Assembly elections,” Sinha said.
