Multiple bomb threats were reported on Wednesday targeting key establishments in Gujarat, including the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) headquarters, and offices of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Authorities have launched search operations and evacuated buildings as a precautionary measure.
Evacuations and Security Measures
Following the threat, the AMC headquarters at Danapith was evacuated, while security was tightened at other sensitive establishments. Bomb squads and fire services were deployed to the affected locations. Officials confirmed that the threats were received via email and phone calls, prompting immediate action.
Search Operations Underway
Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad police, along with specialized bomb disposal units, are conducting thorough searches of the premises. Dog squads and metal detectors are being used to ensure no suspicious objects are present. Authorities have urged the public to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information.
The Gujarat CMO has been cordoned off, and entry has been restricted to essential personnel only. Similar precautions are in place at RSS offices across the state. Officials stated that the threats appear to be hoaxes, but no risks are being taken given the sensitivity of the targets.
Investigations are ongoing to trace the origin of the threats. Cybercrime teams are analyzing the emails and call records to identify the perpetrators. This incident comes amid heightened security awareness in the state.
