In a sharp critique of the current administration, BRS MLA and former minister T Harish Rao has launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Revant Reddy and his government for failing to complete the construction of TIMS hospitals across Hyderabad. Rao labeled the Congress government as 'criminally negligent' for stalling these crucial healthcare projects.
Accusations of Political Motives Behind Hospital Delays
Harish Rao, speaking on Sunday, detailed the origins of the TIMS hospital project. He stated that after the COVID-19 pandemic, former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) designed these facilities with a 100-year vision for Hyderabad's medical infrastructure. The project gained significant momentum in April 2022, when KCR set a record by laying the foundation stone for three government multi-specialty hospitals in a single day.
Rao contrasted this initial progress with the current scenario, alleging that construction has slowed to a snail's pace under the Congress government. He made a serious allegation, claiming that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is deliberately not completing these hospitals because he fears that his predecessor, KCR, might receive credit if the task is finished.
A Call to Action Amidst Unchanged Ground Reality
The BRS leader further accused the government of playing with people's lives for two years. He alleged that the administration is withholding essential medical services to extract commissions, thereby not completing the works. Rao provided a specific timeline, revealing that even after a month-and-a-half since a BRS team's inspection visit to one of the TIMS hospital sites, the situation on the ground remains completely unchanged.
Issuing a direct challenge to the ruling party, Rao urged them to stop speaking against the BRS and to set aside political differences. His central demand was for the government to expedite the completion of the TIMS hospitals' construction, emphasizing the urgent need for these medical facilities for the city's residents, especially the poor.
Currently, only one TIMS hospital is operational in Gachibowli, while three others remain under construction, their futures uncertain amidst the political crossfire.
