Shivamogga: Revenue minister Krishna Byre Gowda on Friday stated that time will provide the answer to demands for a change in leadership within the state. Responding to questions about a potential cabinet reshuffle, he told reporters, "Whatever is destined to happen, will happen at that time."
Government Must Adapt to Changing Times
Emphasizing the necessity for the government to evolve with the times, Byre Gowda noted that the public has entrusted them with the responsibility of governance. He reiterated that his focus remains on working diligently to address the problems faced by citizens. He remarked that while political aspirations and shifts are inevitable, the administration cannot remain detached from its duty to the people.
Criticism Over Commercial Cylinder Price Hike
Turning his attention to the increase in commercial cylinder prices, the minister questioned whether the government follows one policy during elections and a different one once they conclude. He alleged that the current scarcity in official channels, coupled with availability in the black market, suggests a system that favors racketeers.
Women's Reservation Bill Under Scrutiny
Byre Gowda further criticized the central government's handling of the women's reservation bill passed in 2023. He questioned the motives behind calling a special session close to the elections, implying that the timing was politically motivated.
Rain Damage in Bhadravathi Taluk
Regarding the recent rain damage in Bhadravathi taluk of Shivamogga, where over 20 houses were destroyed by heavy winds and rain, the minister confirmed that he has received requests for additional compensation. He assured that the government is taking swift action to provide enhanced relief to the victims.
