Chidambaram, Tagore Slam DMK-MDMK-Vijay Alliance

Senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram has commented on the role of the governor in the event of a hung assembly. In a post on social media, he stated, "If no political alliance or party secures a clear majority in the assembly elections, what is the duty of the governor? The governor must invite the leader of the party with the highest number of MLAs to form the government. This is the political norm. This is the rule."

Tagore's Sharp Criticism

Another Congress leader, Manickam Tagore, launched a scathing attack on the newly formed alliance between the DMK, MDMK, and actor Vijay's party. He wrote, "Two Dravidian parties. Lifetime enemies. They united overnight. Not for Tamil Nadu. Not for secularism. Just to stop one man: Vijay. Congress saw clearly and left. Lying down with the B-team of RSS/BJP and calling yourself secular..."

The remarks come amid the evolving political landscape in Tamil Nadu, with the DMK and MDMK, once bitter rivals, joining hands with Vijay's political outfit. Congress has distanced itself from this alliance, citing ideological differences.
