The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) will hold its first protest rally in Punjab at Amritsar on Saturday, founder Abhijeet Dipke announced in a video message posted on X.
Protest Details
Opening his address with "Sat Sri Akal", Dipke said he would arrive in Amritsar at 4 pm and appealed to local youth to gather at Amritsar Gate. The protest is being organised in solidarity with NEET and CBSE students.
Demands and Background
The youth-led movement is demanding the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan over recurring controversies involving examination mismanagement, paper leaks, and evaluation lapses. This event follows a series of street demonstrations in Delhi and Pune, where young people rallied behind the group's demands for accountability, transparency, and education reform.
Dipke concluded his address with "Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh," indicating the party's broader political ambitions as it expands beyond its digital roots. Punjab is expected to go to polls in early 2027.
Origins of the Party
The Cockroach Janta Party emerged as a viral phenomenon on May 16, 2026, following controversial remarks during a Supreme Court hearing. Chief Justice of India Surya Kant had reportedly likened certain unemployed youths and activists to "cockroaches" —a statement he later clarified was directed at people using fake degrees.
