A Class 6 student of Sterling English Residential School in Kadayarappanahalli, near Bengaluru, died on Tuesday after reportedly falling ill, triggering outrage among parents who alleged assault by a teacher. Enraged relatives and parents allegedly assaulted the physical education teacher following the incident.
Incident Details
The boy, identified as a 12-year-old student, was found unwell in the school premises and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead. The exact cause of death is yet to be ascertained, but parents claimed that the child had been assaulted by the PE teacher prior to falling ill. According to a police official, the teacher has been taken into custody for questioning.
Parents' Reaction
Upon hearing the news, relatives and parents of other students gathered at the school and allegedly attacked the PE teacher, accusing him of responsibility for the boy's death. The teacher sustained minor injuries and was later admitted to a hospital for treatment. Police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
School's Response
The school management has expressed grief over the incident and stated that they are cooperating with authorities. In a statement, a school spokesperson said, 'We are deeply saddened by the loss of our student. We are fully cooperating with the police investigation and will take necessary action based on the findings.'

Bengaluru police have launched a probe into the death and the alleged assault. A senior police officer said, 'We are examining the circumstances leading to the boy's death. The PE teacher is being questioned, and post-mortem reports will clarify the cause of death.' The officer also appealed for calm and urged parents not to take the law into their own hands.
