Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday declared that the Indian National Congress was on the verge of extinction across the country. He made these remarks while attending the ninth Mahan Kirtan Darbar organized near Amar Pura Chowk in Ludhiana to commemorate the Parkash Purb of Guru Amar Das.
CM Saini's Address at the Kirtan Darbar
Saini bowed before the Guru and joined the congregation, praying for peace, prosperity and harmony in society. During his address, he said the Congress was struggling to count its seats across the country. He described former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh as a member of their family and expressed confidence that they would form a government together in Punjab. The Punjab Assembly elections are scheduled for 2027.
Allegations Against Congress and AAP
Saini accused the Congress of exploiting Punjab during its rule and claimed that it increased corruption and drug problems. He also criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), saying that the party showed people false dreams. The Haryana CM stated that the situation in Punjab was worsening by the day and alleged that law and order had deteriorated under the AAP regime, leaving the state facing a grim situation.
According to Saini, business persons were fleeing Punjab to other states due to the prevailing conditions. He alleged that extortion had become rampant. Saini also claimed that the central government raised fuel prices in emergency circumstances and global issues, such as the West Asia crisis, had worsened conditions, creating challenges similar to those faced during the pandemic era.
Honors and Announcements
At the event, the Guru Amar Das Seva Society honored Saini with a siropa and a memento. He highlighted Guru Amar Das' teachings of humanity, service and equality, stressing their relevance in uniting society. Saini announced a contribution of Rs 5 lakh towards land acquisition plans near a local gurdwara.
