In a significant development following a tragic road accident in Chhindwara, State Congress president Jitu Patwari made a visit to the area on Saturday. He met with the families of the 10 individuals who lost their lives in the devastating incident that occurred on Thursday. Patwari extended his condolences and support to the grieving relatives during this difficult time.

Hospital Visits and Allegations of Government Mismanagement

Patwari also visited the local hospital to meet with those injured in the accident, wishing them a speedy recovery. Speaking to reporters, he did not mince words, stating, "It is not just a road accident, but the result of the government's negligence, mismanagement, and abdication of responsibility." He further alleged that all the deceased and injured were returning from a function addressed by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, implying a direct link to the event.

Financial Assistance and Broader Criticisms from Opposition

Meanwhile, in Bhopal, Leader of the Opposition Umang Singhar announced financial assistance of Rs 50,000 to each family of the deceased. He expressed deep sorrow, saying, "A mother lost her son, a child lost his father—the loss is irreparable." Singhar raised serious concerns about the circumstances leading to the accident, highlighting complaints that women were pressured into attending the CM's event. He questioned, "Will the government investigate which officials exerted this pressure?" referring to allegations that threats were made to stop funds under the Laadli Behana Yojana if they did not attend.
