CPM's Ariff Calls for Rebuilding LDF After Poll Loss

Thiruvananthapuram: CPM leader A M Ariff has stated that significant cracks developed in the foundation of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) following the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, which ultimately contributed to the recent assembly election defeat. He emphasized the need for a complete reconstruction of both the front and the party from the ground up.

Organizational Failures Highlighted

Speaking to a news channel in Alappuzha on Thursday, Ariff pointed out that after being in power for two consecutive terms, the party's organizational machinery, including its cyber wing, failed to effectively counter its rivals. He noted that the opposition had systematically targeted Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan over the past decade.

Call for Self-Assessment

Ariff urged the party to prepare itself by recognizing the strength of its adversaries. He stressed that introspection and structural changes are essential to regain the trust of the electorate and to rebuild the LDF as a formidable political force.
