Dhanbad Polling Logistics: 23 Green Corridors for Urban Elections

Dhanbad Administration Executes Major Election Logistics Operation

In a meticulously planned logistical exercise preceding the urban local body elections, Dhanbad district authorities successfully coordinated the dispatch of polling parties from the Mega Sports Complex on Sunday morning. District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Aditya Ranjan, along with Senior Superintendent of Police Prabhat Kumar, officially flagged off the teams carrying election materials destined for 1,019 polling stations under the Dhanbad Municipal Corporation and Chirkunda Municipal Council.

Comprehensive Preparations and Security Protocols

Prior to the departure, a high-level delegation including DC Ranjan, SSP Kumar, Deputy Development Commissioner Sunny Raj, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Lokesh Barange, and Deputy Election Officer Mukesh Kumar Bauri conducted an extensive inspection of every enclosure at the dispatch center. The officials personally interacted with polling personnel, offering encouragement and boosting morale ahead of the crucial electoral process.

To maintain organizational efficiency, separate vehicle bays were established for the two civic bodies, ensuring orderly movement and preventing confusion. Transport officials stationed at the main gate provided precise guidance to polling personnel, directing them to their designated vehicles. Every vehicle underwent rigorous inspection under a two-layer security system before receiving clearance for departure.

Unprecedented Traffic Management Measures

The administration implemented extraordinary traffic management strategies to facilitate swift movement of election materials. Twenty-three dedicated green corridors were created throughout the district, allowing election convoys to reach their respective polling stations without encountering delays. Traffic at major intersections across Dhanbad was temporarily suspended to grant priority passage to these essential vehicles, which received continuous police escorts throughout their journeys.

Following the successful departure of all polling parties, DC Ranjan confirmed that every team had left smoothly for their assigned booths. He issued directives to sector magistrates and returning officers, emphasizing the importance of ensuring all essential facilities were fully operational at polling stations. Continuous monitoring was maintained from the election control room to oversee the entire process.

Strict Instructions and Security Warnings

Polling personnel received explicit instructions to verify all election materials immediately upon arrival at their stations. Any shortages or discrepancies were to be reported without delay to the concerned sector magistrate or returning officer for prompt resolution.

The DC announced that officials would conduct evening visits to sensitive and highly sensitive polling areas to assess security arrangements. He issued a stern warning that any attempts to disrupt the electoral process would result in immediate registration of First Information Reports and stringent legal consequences.

Police Assurance and Voter Appeal

Meanwhile, SSP Prabhat Kumar affirmed that the administration and police had implemented comprehensive arrangements to guarantee free, fair, and peaceful polling. He made a direct appeal to voters, encouraging them to cast their ballots without fear and assuring them of complete security throughout the voting process.

Issuing a firm warning to potential troublemakers, the SSP declared that anyone attempting to intimidate voters, create disturbances, or influence voting in favor of any candidate would face severe legal action. "Such elements will not be spared under any circumstances," he emphasized, highlighting the administration's zero-tolerance policy toward electoral misconduct.

The elaborate preparations demonstrate Dhanbad administration's commitment to conducting transparent urban local body elections through systematic planning, robust security measures, and efficient logistical coordination.
