Dhinakaran Accuses TVK of Horse-Trading in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: After Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay called on Governor R V Arlekar and staked claim to form the next government in Tamil Nadu, AMMK leader T T V Dhinakaran on Friday night met the governor and accused TVK of indulging in “horse-trading.”

Dhinakaran Calls It a Mockery of Democracy

Calling it “a mockery of democracy,” Dhinakaran said he had urged the governor to take serious note of the developments. He submitted a representation seeking an invitation for AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami to form the next government.

Allegations of Missing MLA

Speaking to reporters after meeting the governor, Dhinakaran alleged that the party’s newly elected MLA, S Kamaraj, had gone missing. He said repeated attempts to contact him had failed.

“Our party MLA met me in Puducherry and obtained my signature on the representation seeking an invitation for AIADMK leader Palaniswami to form the next government. But he has now gone missing and I am unable to reach him over phone,” Dhinakaran said, alleging that TVK could be behind the MLA’s disappearance.

Kamaraj, who contested on the AMMK’s cooker symbol, defeated both the DMK and TVK candidates in the Mannargudi constituency.

Sharp Attack on Vijay

Dhinakaran launched a sharp attack on Vijay for attempting to rope in DMK allies to form the government after portraying the DMK as an “evil force” during the campaign. “Even before forming the government, he is indulging in such activities. How will he provide a clean government?” he asked.
