DMK's Senthilbalaji Officially Launches Coimbatore North Election Campaign
In a significant political move, former minister and DMK zonal in charge Senthilbalaji officially launched the election campaign for Coimbatore North candidate Durai Senthamil Selvan at Gandhi Maa Nagar on Sunday. The event drew a large and enthusiastic gathering, setting the stage for a competitive electoral battle in the region.
Focus on Motor Pumpset Manufacturers and Farmers
Addressing the crowd, Senthilbalaji highlighted a key aspect of the party's election manifesto that directly targets the motor pumpset manufacturing sector. He elaborated on the government's ambitious plan to provide modern electric motor pumpsets to 20 lakh farmers across the state. This initiative, he asserted, would not only benefit farmers by enhancing irrigation efficiency but also revitalize the motor industry in Coimbatore, a major hub for such manufacturing. The move is seen as a strategic effort to address local economic concerns and garner support from industrial stakeholders.
Confidence in Victory and Campaign Outreach
Senthilbalaji expressed strong confidence in the party's prospects, urging the public to vote for the 'Rising Sun' symbol to ensure the continuation of what he described as people-centric governance. He predicted a win for Durai Senthamil Selvan in the Coimbatore North seat, emphasizing that while the DMK aims to secure both Coimbatore South and North constituencies, a massive victory in the North would be a particular source of pride for the party.
Beyond the rally, the campaign involved extensive community engagement. Senthilbalaji, accompanied by DMK functionaries, visited the CSI Immanuel Church at Uppilipalayam to observe Easter Sunday, seeking support from diverse groups. He also interacted with residents of the Amman Kulam Housing Unit, which falls under the Coimbatore South assembly constituency, where he listened to grievances about irregular water supply and promised to address the issue.
In a personal touch, Senthilbalaji named a newborn baby during the campaign, symbolizing the party's connection with local families. This multifaceted approach underscores the DMK's efforts to build a broad-based coalition ahead of the elections.
