In a bold assertion of confidence, DMK MLA and former minister V Senthilbalaji has stated that the emergence of new political parties will have no bearing on the outcome of the upcoming Tamil Nadu assembly election. He firmly believes the DMK is poised for a repeat victory.
Dismissing the Challenge from New Entrants
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Senthilbalaji directly addressed claims made by Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay that the electoral battle would be primarily between DMK and TVK. The DMK leader dismissed this notion, downplaying the potential impact of any new political formations entering the fray.
"No matter how many new parties come up, it will not make any difference," Senthilbalaji declared. He projected a clear win for the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, leading to a second consecutive term for Chief Minister M K Stalin.
Crediting Welfare Schemes for Public Confidence
Senthilbalaji attributed the DMK's strong position to the state government's performance. He argued that the various welfare schemes and development initiatives launched by the DMK administration have successfully garnered the trust of the people across Tamil Nadu.
"The DMK government's welfare schemes and development initiatives had earned the confidence of the public across the state," he emphasized, suggesting this grassroots support forms an insurmountable advantage.
DMK: The People's Rooted Party
The MLA from Karur offered a pointed analysis of why both new and established opposition parties consistently target the DMK. He stated that labeling the DMK as the enemy is a tactical move for these parties to establish their own relevance in the political landscape.
"All new or old parties call DMK their enemy because it's the only way the parties can show themselves as relevant," Senthilbalaji said. In contrast, he positioned the DMK as "the only party that's rooted with the people of the state," implying a deeper, more organic connection with the electorate.
Prepared and United for the Electoral Battle
Highlighting the party's readiness, the former minister assured that the DMK is entering the election phase fully united and meticulously prepared. He outlined the party's ground-level strategy, which involves its cadre actively working to communicate the government's achievements directly to voters.
This grassroots mobilization effort, according to Senthilbalaji, is key to translating administrative work into electoral success, ensuring the party's message effectively reaches every corner of the state.
