Former Haryana Deputy CM Alleges Conspiracy Against JJP Leaders
In a significant development, former deputy chief minister of Haryana, Dushyant Chautala, has made serious allegations of a conspiracy targeting leaders of the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP). Speaking at a press conference in Chandigarh on Saturday, Chautala claimed that party members are being systematically intimidated by police forces for raising critical issues concerning the youth of the state.
Incident at Guru Jambheshwar University
Chautala detailed a recent protest organized by the Indian National Students Organisation (INSO) at Guru Jambheshwar University in Hisar. According to his account, police authorities responded with disproportionate force over the minor incident of two broken flower pots. CIA police teams allegedly conducted late-night raids, picking up party workers from their homes without substantial grounds.
Furthermore, when JJP leaders and workers voluntarily approached police stations to surrender, they were reportedly intercepted midway by a suspicious black-tinted vehicle with fake license plates. The occupants of this vehicle allegedly issued threats, preventing the party members from completing their intended surrender.
Police Protection of Accused Personnel
Expressing deep concern, Chautala stated that instead of acting on written complaints filed by the JJP, police authorities appear to be protecting the accused personnel involved in these incidents. This alleged protection of wrongdoers has been deemed unacceptable by the former deputy chief minister, who emphasized the need for transparent investigations.
Broader Youth Issues Raised
During the press conference, which included JJP State President Brij Sharma and Youth President Digvijay Chautala, several pressing youth-related matters were highlighted:
- Multiple student suicide cases at NIT Kurukshetra
- Alleged irregularities in recruitment processes at various universities
- Ongoing efforts by JJP and INSO to submit memorandums to administrative authorities
Chautala revealed that following the submission of a memorandum regarding Guru Jambheshwar University, an FIR was registered against eight JJP leaders, including Digvijay Chautala, specifically citing the breaking of two flower pots as justification.
Specific Allegations Against Police Personnel
The former deputy CM provided detailed accounts of police surveillance and questionable conduct:
- A team of five police personnel, led by Inspector Pawan, allegedly followed JJP members from the city police station to the secretariat.
- One policeman who obstructed the JJP convoy was reportedly seen at the Hisar SP office, raising questions about coordination.
- Hisar police claimed the personnel involved were off-duty and unarmed while heading to the ADGP office, but video evidence allegedly shows them carrying weapons.
Chautala posed several critical questions regarding these incidents:
- If the personnel were off-duty, why did they stop the JJP convoy?
- Why did they flee the scene after the incident?
- Why were they operating without proper identification?
- How did they reach the secretariat carrying weapons like AK-47 rifles while allegedly off-duty?
The allegations have sparked concerns about political targeting and police conduct in Haryana, with the JJP leadership demanding immediate investigation into what they describe as a coordinated effort to suppress legitimate political activism focused on youth welfare.
