Kolkata witnessed a startling incident on Monday evening when an egg was hurled at Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA Kunal Ghosh outside the residence of party chairperson Mamata Banerjee. The attack took place around 6.30 pm as Ghosh, who represents the Beliaghata constituency in north Kolkata, paused to address reporters near Banerjee's home.

According to eyewitnesses, a local youth threw an egg at Ghosh as he was leaving the premises. The MLA was not injured in the attack. The assailant was quickly apprehended by security personnel and handed over to the local police for further questioning.
