AIADMK Leader EPS Accuses Tamil Nadu Government of Dynastic Rule
In a sharp political attack, AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami alleged on Friday that Tamil Nadu is effectively governed by the family of Chief Minister M K Stalin, with three other relatives acting as de facto chief ministers. Speaking at a campaign event in Jolarpet, EPS made these remarks while supporting former AIADMK minister K C Veeramani and AMMK candidate Gnanasekaran in the Tirupattur constituency.
Four Chief Ministers from One Family, Claims EPS
Edappadi K Palaniswami stated, "The state has four chief ministers — Stalin, his son Udhayanidhi Stalin, Stalin's wife Durga and son-in-law Sabarisan." He elaborated on this by pointing to Sabarisan's involvement in election-related activities, including his participation in introducing Villivakkam DMK candidate Karthik Mohan. EPS argued that members of the Stalin family are exercising significant power across all spheres of governance, which he framed as a clear example of dynastic politics.
EPS urged voters to support the AIADMK-led alliance to end what he described as this entrenched family rule. He emphasized that the people of Tamil Nadu should reject this system at the ballot box to restore democratic principles.

Beyond dynastic politics, Edappadi K Palaniswami also addressed the serious issue of drug peddling in the state. He questioned whether a government that allegedly permits the spread of narcotics deserves another term in office. "This is enough, let us put an end to it," he declared, calling for decisive action against drug-related problems.
Later, while campaigning in the Muslim-dominated Ambur constituency, EPS tackled accusations from the DMK that label the AIADMK as anti-minority. He firmly denied these claims, stating that the party's alliance with the BJP is purely an electoral arrangement and does not compromise the AIADMK's core ideology or commitment to minority welfare.
He further alleged that the DMK has "deceived minorities" to gain power and encouraged them to back the AIADMK-led front for a return to governance that prioritizes their interests. This appeal highlights the ongoing political strategies aimed at securing minority votes in the region.
