In a significant development, the Manimajra police have arrested a former employee for allegedly setting fire to a car seat cover showroom in the Motor Market area of Chandigarh. The suspect, identified as Toheed, was taken into custody after a thorough investigation.

Incident Details

Toheed, who had been employed at the showroom for three years, was fired approximately a month before the incident. According to police reports, he was captured on security footage starting the blaze on May 31. The fire quickly spread through the basement, which was filled with highly flammable materials such as foam, plastic, and leather, causing extensive damage to the property.

Firefighting Efforts

Seven fire engines were dispatched to the scene, and firefighters battled the inferno for three hours before bringing it under control. The intense heat and smoke made the operation challenging, but no injuries were reported.
