Hyderabad is set to become the epicenter of global economic discourse as it prepares to host the high-profile Telangana Rising-2047 Global Summit. The two-day event, scheduled for December 8 and 9 at the Bharat Future City, will convene an illustrious gathering of international leaders, top industrialists, Nobel laureates, and experts to deliberate on the state's ambitious growth trajectory.
A Confluence of Global Minds for Telangana's Future
The summit will be formally inaugurated by Governor Jishnu Dev Varma on the afternoon of December 8. The inaugural session will culminate in a keynote address by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, setting the tone for the discussions ahead. The event boasts a formidable speaker lineup, including Nobel laureates Abhijit Banerjee and Kailash Satyarthi, Trump Media and Technology Group director Eric Swider, Biocon founder Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy.
State leadership, including Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Karnataka Deputy CM D K Shivakumar, and IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu, will also address the gathering. According to Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, the summit is an exclusive economic platform designed to showcase the state's strategic plans to the world.
Unveiling the Blueprint for a $3 Trillion Economy
The cornerstone of the summit will be the presentation and release of the Telangana Rising Vision Document. This comprehensive blueprint, prepared in consultation with NITI Aayog, the Indian School of Business (ISB) Hyderabad, and global experts, outlines the state's roadmap to building a three-trillion dollar economy by 2047. "The main objective is to present before the world the Telangana Rising Vision Document," emphasized Bhatti Vikramarka, highlighting that development and public welfare are its central goals.
While the primary focus is on showcasing this vision, the summit will also see tangible progress on the investment front. Multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed during the event, as various players have shown keen interest in investing in Telangana. Minister Sridhar Babu confirmed that although investment mobilization is not the sole aim, the signing of agreements will proceed given the strong investor interest.
Logistics, Participation, and a Non-Political Focus
The summit has attracted significant international attention, with 154 delegates from 44 countries confirmed to attend. A notable contingent of 46 delegates is arriving from the United States alone. To ensure smooth participation, the government has made contingency plans, including arranging special flights if any dignitaries face travel or airline connectivity issues.
Emphasizing the economic nature of the gathering, the Deputy CM clarified that the summit is not a political event but one focused squarely on Telangana's economic future and the interests of its people. Invitations have been extended to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers, and Chief Ministers of other states primarily to inform their respective business communities about the opportunities in Hyderabad. Furthermore, leaders from all political parties, including former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao, will be formally invited.
The detailed agenda includes the inaugural session on December 8, followed by multiple sector-specific discussions featuring experts, ministers, and principal secretaries. These sessions will continue on the second day, December 9, starting at 9 AM. The grand finale will be the release of the Vision Document, followed by a closing ceremony at 6 PM, details for which will be announced later.
