Residents of Sector 3 in Greater Noida West have expressed deep frustration over years of inaction on unresolved civic problems, including broken roads, poor block connectivity, damaged boundary walls, drains that have remained uncleaned for nine months, and severe waterlogging issues with no proper outlet, despite a decade of habitation.
Infrastructure Woes
The sector frequently experiences water pipeline damage, uncollected waste, and poor infrastructure, such as faulty sewer layouts, the absence of a community centre, and poorly maintained parks. These issues have persisted for years, leaving residents exasperated.
Community Meeting Highlights
During a recent community meeting in the sector, residents stressed the urgent need to repair roads connecting the B block to nearby blocks. They noted that roads linking Blocks B to C and D are in dangerous condition, making travel difficult, especially during the rainy season.
Deo Raj Tiwari, a resident of Sector 3, emphasised the urgency of repairs to the 210-metre section of the 24-metre-wide road connecting Blocks B and D, as well as the resurfacing of roads near Aster School. “The state of these roads can be hazardous, especially with the approaching monsoon,” Tiwari said, urging the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) to take swift action.
Strategic Plan
The meeting concluded with a strategic plan for a general body meeting, aimed at rallying support from all residents of B-Block and engaging with GNIDA officials to facilitate action on the issues. Residents also complained about damaged boundary walls at four spots in Blocks B and D along the 24-metre-wide road.
Monsoon Concerns
As the monsoon approaches, residents call for action to ensure safer roads and improved drainage solutions for the sector. GNIDA officials from the drain and sewer department assured redress of choked drains, but a response on broken roads is still awaited.
