Gujarat Deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi Addresses Worker and Gas Supply Concerns Amid West Asia Tensions
In a proactive move to address growing concerns, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi convened a crucial meeting with industry representatives from South Gujarat in Surat on Sunday. The gathering focused on critical issues related to worker welfare and the supply of essential commodities, particularly in light of the ongoing West Asia crisis.
Meeting with Industry Associations
The meeting saw participation from key industry associations representing major industrial hubs, including Surat, Ankleshwar, Vapi, and Bharuch. According to government statements, the discussion aimed to foster collaboration between the state administration and the industrial sector to ensure stability during these challenging times.
Assurances on Gas and Fuel Supply
Deputy CM Sanghavi provided reassurances regarding the availability of essential items. He stated that there is currently an adequate supply of gas, petrol, and diesel across the state. The supply chain is being meticulously managed in accordance with central government guidelines, which have been adapted to address the complexities arising from the West Asia situation.
Furthermore, Sanghavi highlighted the state government's commitment to accelerating the conversion of LPG connections to PNG, a move designed to enhance energy efficiency and security.
Addressing Worker Welfare and Rumors
A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to quelling fears among workers, which have been exacerbated by the spread of rumors on social media. Sanghavi emphasized that various industries are actively making arrangements for accommodation and meals for workers in key areas such as Pandesara, Vapi, Ankleshwar, and Dahej.
To further support workers, the government is implementing measures to ensure the sufficient availability of 5kg LPG cylinders. Sanghavi issued a stern warning against the dissemination of misleading information, advising the public to verify any news with official government sources. He announced that criminal charges will be filed against individuals found forwarding false or misleading content.
Strict Action Against Black Marketing
In response to concerns about potential exploitation, the deputy CM outlined stringent measures being taken against black marketing activities. Special teams have been established to monitor and curb any irregularities related to the sale of gas, petrol, diesel, or other essential commodities. Sanghavi assured that strict legal action is being enforced against those involved in such illicit practices.
This comprehensive approach underscores the Gujarat government's dedication to maintaining order and supporting both industries and workers during the current geopolitical uncertainties in West Asia.
