A three-year-old girl died during treatment on Tuesday, two days after she was allegedly struck by a speeding car while walking towards a temple in Jhajharola Khera village, Gurgaon. The incident occurred on May 31, and the child succumbed to her injuries on June 2.
Incident Details
According to a complaint filed by the victim's father, Narbir (28), a labourer, at Farrukhnagar police station on June 2, the incident took place around 7:30 pm on May 31. Narbir stated that his daughter, Gori, was hit by a vehicle coming from the opposite direction. She lost consciousness at the spot, and the driver fled the scene without providing any assistance.
Medical Treatment
Gori was initially taken to SGT Hospital for emergency care. However, as her condition worsened, she was transferred to a private hospital, where she eventually died during treatment on Tuesday.
Legal Action
A case has been registered against the unidentified driver under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death due to negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police have inspected the crime scene and are making efforts to identify the driver and establish the circumstances of the collision, a police officer said.
Investigation Underway
The police are currently investigating the case and searching for the absconding driver. They are also examining CCTV footage from the area and questioning witnesses to piece together the events leading to the accident. The victim's family has been informed about the progress of the investigation.
This tragic incident has once again highlighted the issue of reckless driving in the region. Local residents have expressed concerns about road safety and have urged authorities to take stricter measures to prevent such accidents in the future.
