Haryana CM Urges Youth for Self-Reliant Villages

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday urged citizens, especially the youth, to actively contribute towards building self-reliant villages, empowering young people, and ensuring prosperity for farmers. He asserted that the vision of a 'Developed India' could only be achieved through the development of rural areas.

Foundation Day Celebrations

Addressing the annual foundation day celebrations of Seva Sadhana and Gram Vikas Kendra in Samalkha, Panipat, Saini described the institution as a living model of self-reliant India. He praised its efforts in transforming rural communities through service, education, skill development, agriculture, and social empowerment.

Rural Development as National Priority

Highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a Developed India, the CM said villages form the foundation of the nation's growth. He emphasised the need for holistic rural development in areas such as education, healthcare, agriculture, employment, and culture.

Skill Development Centre

Saini welcomed the establishment of a Skill Development Centre on the campus in collaboration with Shri Vishwakarma Skill University. Stressing the importance of skill-based education, he said the objective was not only to create job seekers but also job creators, enabling youth to become self-reliant and contribute to nation-building.

Natural Farming Incentives

The CM also reiterated the state government's commitment to promoting natural farming. He announced several incentives, including enhanced subsidies for indigenous cows, financial assistance for natural farming inputs, and annual support for APEDA-certified organic farmers. Dedicated marketing spaces for organic produce, testing laboratories, and certification centres would also be established, he said.

Smart Agriculture Project

He further announced a 2,000-acre Smart Agriculture Project in Kurukshetra in collaboration with Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, combining modern technology with natural farming practices.

Sports and Education Initiatives

Praising the sports nursery and proposed hostels for underprivileged children at the centre, Saini said such initiatives would nurture talent and expand educational opportunities.
