The Haryana Congress has resolved to highlight a series of public grievances during the forthcoming session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha. Key issues include rising inflation, recurring paper leaks, shortages of electricity and water, and deteriorating law and order.
CLP Meeting Decisions
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) chaired by former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda. The meeting commenced with a two-minute silence in memory of former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal.
Congress legislators engaged in detailed discussions on multiple matters of public concern and formulated the party's future strategy. Members expressed deep concern over the escalating inflation, increasing prices of petrol, diesel, and LPG, the Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls (SIR), bank scams, paper leaks, the NEET examination, cancellation of examinations and recruitments, CBSE paper evaluation, worsening law and order, and shortages of electricity and water.
Call for Statewide Agitation
Many members suggested launching a statewide agitation on these issues. Hooda directed legislators, district-level leaders, and Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to actively participate in the SIR process until July 15. He emphasized, "Congress must remain alert against any irregularities in the SIR," urging party workers to ensure that no genuine voter is deleted from the rolls and no fake voter is added.
Press Conference Highlights
Addressing a press conference after the meeting, Hooda said party leaders had met the Election Commission regarding alleged irregularities in the Rajya Sabha elections. He also stated that the Congress had submitted a reply to the notice issued by the Speaker over the party’s symbolic session held outside the Assembly premises and had not received any further communication from the Speaker’s office. Hooda announced that another CLP meeting would be held after July 15 to finalize the party’s future programs and campaigns.
