Congress MLA Questions Haryana Govt's Job Claims, Reveals Low HKRNL Placement Rates
Haryana Job Portal Under Fire: Only 1.15% Fresh Placements

Congress MLA Exposes Haryana Govt's Employment Claims, Highlights Low Job Placement Rates

In Chandigarh, the Nayab Saini-led BJP government's assertions about generating employment through the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam Limited (HKRNL) have come under scrutiny. Congress MLA from Kaithal, Aditya Surjewala, has raised pointed questions, seeking detailed information from the Minister of State for Youth Empowerment, Gaurav Gautam.

Official Data Reveals Stark Disparity in Job Placements

According to information provided by the Haryana government, a total of 1,13,914 individuals have secured employment through HKRNL out of 14.63 lakh applicants. However, this figure includes 97,051 old employees who were already on contractual employment before the portal's inception. Effectively, only 16,893 new applicants have obtained jobs via this platform.

This translates to a mere 1.15% placement rate for new candidates after the portal's launch. When including the old staffers who were transitioned from the previous system, the overall placement rate stands at just 7.8%.

MLA Surjewala Highlights Massive Gap in Registrations vs. Employment

These details emerged in response to an unstarred question posed by MLA Aditya Surjewala. He informed that the state's data underscores a significant disconnect between the number of registrations on the portal and the actual employment provided.

"According to the official reply given by the minister of state for youth empowerment, this means the fresh placement rate is approximately just 1.15% of total registered candidates, while the overall placement rate (including porting) is around 7.8%. These figures raise serious doubts about the effectiveness of the HKRN portal," said Aditya Surjewala.

He further emphasized, "Lakhs of youths are registered on the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam portal, but actual jobs are extremely few. This goes against the govt's claims on skill development and job creation."

District-Wise Breakdown of Registrations and Recruitments

The data also includes district-wise registrations of youths under HKRN in Haryana up to 2026, showcasing high numbers in several areas:

  • Hisar: 1,46,545
  • Sonipat: 83,063
  • Rohtak: 71,924

In contrast, district-wise new recruitments in 2025 reveal minimal placements, indicating what Surjewala describes as "mere token placements":
