Haryana: Man Arrested for Strangling Wife and Dumping Body in Bushes

The police in Haryana's Rewari district have reportedly solved the murder case of a 26-year-old woman whose body was discovered wrapped in a mat and abandoned in bushes at Dhawana village.

According to authorities, the victim has been identified as Jyoti Kumari (26), a native of Uttar Pradesh. She was allegedly strangled to death by her husband, Kanwarpal, a resident of Mandola village. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Pawan Kumar stated, “Kanwarpal has been arrested and has confessed to murdering his wife in a fit of rage.”

The case came to light on May 31 when the police received information about a woman's body found in the bushes at Dhawana village. Upon arrival, officers discovered the body wrapped in a mat with a cloth stuffed into the deceased's mouth.

On June 2, the victim's father, Ram Adhar, informed the police that Kanwarpal was an alcoholic and would frequently beat his wife whenever she objected to his drinking habits.

In a separate incident in Rohtak, a 21-year-old woman named Joshna Bhanu was allegedly beaten to death by her husband, Azad, in Dobh village under the Bahu Akbarpur police station area. A domestic dispute is believed to have triggered the incident. The police arrested the accused after receiving information about the woman's death on Tuesday morning.
