Two Killed, Six Injured in Hazaribag Village Clash Over Brick Kiln Dispute

In a tragic incident at Napokhurd village in Hazaribag district, two persons were killed and six others injured during a violent clash late on Thursday night. Police have attributed the violence to personal rivalry, with the deceased identified as Rohit Saw, 40, and Pradeep Kumar Saw, 28.

Details of the Violent Incident

According to police and local residents, the clash originated from an ongoing dispute between Vikas Saw, 30, and Vinod Saw, allegedly related to financial dealings in a brick kiln business. Police reported that Vikas, accompanied by his men, arrived at Vinod's house around 11 pm. Not finding Vinod there, Vikas entered the premises, created a disturbance, and began throwing household items.

Simultaneously, an SUV, allegedly bearing a police board, arrived at the scene and attempted to hit Vinod, who had reached the location after receiving information. Although Vinod managed to escape, the vehicle rammed into Pradeep Kumar Saw, killing him instantly. The SUV then crashed into a house wall and overturned.

Following this, a group of men from the SUV allegedly attacked several individuals with sharp weapons, resulting in the death of Rohit Saw, the brick kiln owner. Six persons sustained injuries during the assault.

Police Response and Arrests

Police have arrested seven persons, including the main accused, Vikas Saw. Authorities registered a case against unidentified individuals and launched a comprehensive investigation to identify all those involved. The SUV involved in the incident is registered in the name of Suraj Saw but was reportedly used by his brother-in-law, Prakash Saw, who is currently in jail.

Barkagaon SDPO Pawan Kumar stated that the police are probing the case from all angles and conducting raids to apprehend the perpetrators. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examination to Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College and Hospital.

Community Outrage and Political Allegations

In the aftermath of the incident, angry villagers staged a road blockade at Barkagaon main chowk with the bodies on Friday. Miscreants later set ablaze the SUV and a tractor. Former Barkagaon MLA Amba Prasad visited the protest site and spoke to DGP Tadasha Mishra, Hazaribag deputy commissioner Shashi Prakash Singh, and SP Anjani Anjan, demanding accountability.

Prasad alleged that the attack was carried out by criminals led by Ganga Sahu, whom she claimed is an associate of local BJP MLA Roshan Lal Choudhary. She further asserted that criminal gangs involved in extortion, drugs, and other illegal activities are operating in the area with political patronage, calling for strict action against those responsible.

MLA Roshan Lal Choudhary refuted all allegations, stating, "Her party is in power in the state, and she was using this opportunity to tarnish my image." He blamed the local administration for failing to control illegal coal and sand activities in the region.

The investigation continues as authorities work to bring justice to the victims and their families.
