Himachal Pradesh Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Minister Chander Kumar has firmly rejected the serious allegations made by his son Neeraj Bharti against the state government and its leadership. Speaking to the media on Saturday, the minister condemned the accusations as 'wild' and distanced himself from his son's stance, making it clear that his loyalties remain with the government.
Minister Condemns Son's Remarks
Chander Kumar stated that while it is acceptable to express grievances through appropriate channels, making unfounded allegations is wrong. 'It is alright to express your resentment at an appropriate platform if you have some issues, but making wild allegations like collecting suitcases, keeping two here and sending three there are wrong. It is an attack on the government and doesn't send out a right message,' he said.
Son Resigns from Party Post
Neeraj Bharti, who had been posting serious accusations against the government and its leaders on social media for some time, was issued a show-cause notice by Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee President Vinay Sharma. In response, Bharti tendered his resignation as HPCC vice-president, which was accepted on Friday.
Minister Advises Alternative Course
Dissociating himself from his son's actions, Chander Kumar suggested that Bharti could have discussed his grievances directly with the Chief Minister or the HPCC chief instead of resorting to social media. 'Such acts don't raise your political stature; they only raise questions about the party and the government,' the minister remarked.
Opposition Seizes Opportunity
While the minister has dismissed the accusations as baseless, the opposition has latched onto them to target the government. The controversy has sparked political debate in the state, with questions about internal party dissent and family dynamics in politics.
Chander Kumar's public condemnation of his son's allegations underscores the tension between personal loyalty and political responsibility. The incident highlights the challenges faced by political families when differing views emerge within the same household.
