Jagan Reddy slams Naidu over Mega DSC recruitment

YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu over the Mega District Selection Committee (DSC) recruitment process, alleging widespread irregularities and stating that the process had shattered the trust of lakhs of job aspirants.

Press Conference Accusations

Addressing a press conference in Tadepalli, Reddy claimed that the teacher recruitment exercise had damaged the future of talented youth due to alleged scams and mismanagement. He expressed shock at the facts emerging regarding the DSC, stating, "Looking at all the facts coming to light today regarding the District Selection Committee (DSC), it is extremely shocking. CM N Chandrababu Naidu's government has betrayed the trust of lakhs of candidates through scams, severely damaging the lives of talented aspirants."

Reddy further described the process as highly flawed and unprecedented in its shortcomings. "Never before has such a disastrous recruitment process been witnessed anywhere. DSC represents the hopes and future of lakhs of youth. Resorting to corruption and irregularities even in such a recruitment process is highly deplorable," he added.

Sharp Personal Attack

In a sharp attack on the Chief Minister, Reddy remarked, "If lies, deceit, betrayal, backstabbing and scams were dressed in a shirt and pant, that would be N Chandrababu Naidu." He went on to list alleged paper leaks under Naidu's administration, including incidents from 1995, 1996, 1997, 2017, 2019, and 2025, culminating in the DSC paper leak. "Chandrababu knows very well how to leak papers and how to make money!" Reddy charged.

Government Response

On May 31, School Education Department Secretary Kona Sasidhar had denied any manipulation or procedural deviations in the recruitment drive. He stated that the exam, held after nearly six years, was conducted transparently through a computer-based test on the TCS iON platform. Sasidhar also clarified that claims circulating on social media and in parts of the media were due to confusion over horizontal reservation rules, emphasizing that there had been "no deviation or violation of any prescribed procedures whatsoever."

The Mega DSC recruitment is a state-level examination conducted to recruit government school teachers in Andhra Pradesh.
