Jharkhand Silver Jubilee Celebrations Kick Off

Jharkhand Launches Historic Silver Jubilee Celebrations

The state of Jharkhand embarked on its silver jubilee celebrations on Tuesday, marking a significant milestone ahead of its 25th foundation day on November 15. This year's celebrations hold special significance as they also commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of tribal icon Birsa Munda, adding historical depth to the festivities.

Statewide 'Run for Jharkhand' Unites Communities

In a vibrant display of unity and state pride, a massive 'Run for Jharkhand' event was organized across all districts on Tuesday morning. The marathon saw participation from thousands of residents who came together to celebrate their state's journey and cultural heritage.

In the capital city of Ranchi, Chief Minister Hemant Soren, accompanied by his wife Kalpana Soren (who serves as Gandey MLA) and state cabinet minister Sudivya Kumar, officially flagged off the marathon from the iconic Morhabadi Ground. The chief minister urged citizens to participate enthusiastically in the week-long celebrations that will culminate on the state's foundation day.

'At this auspicious occasion, I pay my deep regards to those bravehearts, who fought a long struggle and sacrificed to give Jharkhand a unique identity,' Soren stated emotionally. 'It is the aim of our government to realise their dream of a prosperous Jharkhand and fulfilling the aims and aspirations of millions of Jharkhandis.'

Hazaribag Joins Celebrations with Cultural Fervor

The enthusiasm was equally palpable in Hazaribag, where thousands of participants from diverse backgrounds including government officials, students, and differently-abled persons joined the 'Run for Jharkhand' event. Deputy Commissioner Shashi Prakash Singh and Superintendent of Police Anjani Anjan flagged off the rally that began from the Hazaribag district transport office and concluded at Jhanda Chowk.

The streets echoed with energetic slogans of 'Johar Jharkhand' and 'Our State, Our Pride' as participants marched through the city. The event was transformed into a cultural extravaganza with traditional bands, drums, and folk dance performances that captivated the gathered crowds.

In a gesture recognizing athletic excellence, the deputy commissioner felicitated top performers in the run with special mementos, adding a competitive spirit to the celebratory event.

Special Vehicles to Spread Jubilee Message

Later in the day, Chief Minister Soren flagged off 25 specially decorated vehicles that will tour various districts across Jharkhand. These vehicles are tasked with spreading the message of harmony, development, and cultural pride associated with the silver jubilee year, ensuring that the celebrations reach every corner of the state.

In a significant diplomatic move, CM Soren also visited Raj Bhavan to call on Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar. During the meeting, he formally invited the governor to grace the official statehood day celebrations on November 15 at Morhabadi as the chief guest, ensuring proper protocol and respect for the constitutional position.

The silver jubilee celebrations represent not just a milestone in Jharkhand's administrative history but also a tribute to the tribal legacy and cultural diversity that defines the state's unique identity in the Indian federation.
