Tragic Truck Accident in Jhunjhunu Claims Three Lives, Leaves Four Critically Injured
In a devastating incident that has shocked the community, an out-of-control truck ran over seven members of a family who were sleeping in the open near Nangli Deepsingh in Jhunjhunu district. The tragedy occurred around 4 AM on Friday in the Gudha Gorji police station area, resulting in three fatalities and leaving four individuals with serious injuries.
Details of the Heartbreaking Incident
The family, belonging to the Bhopa community and identified as relatives of Ramswaroop and Rudmal, had arrived and set up camp at an open space near Nangli Deepsingh on Thursday evening. Following their daily routine, they prepared for the night after dinner, with the children and women spreading sheets on the ground to sleep in the open air.
The family members present included Suresh Bhopa's wife Hotki, their 13-year-old daughter Payal (also known as Modi), 6-year-old son Sanjay, 5-year-old son Sanjeet, Munna Bhopa's 18-year-old daughter Ravina, 13-year-old daughter Priyanka, 8-year-old son Anil, and 7-year-old son Sunil.
Tragically, around 4 AM, a speeding trailer lost control on the unpaved road and plowed directly over the sleeping family. The impact was catastrophic, crushing Hotki and the children sleeping beside her. Anil miraculously survived the initial impact, but the scene quickly descended into chaos with screams and panic as nearby residents and family members rushed to help.
Immediate Aftermath and Medical Response
All the seriously injured were immediately transported to Gudha Gorji hospital for emergency treatment. Due to the severity of their conditions, they were subsequently referred to BDK Hospital in Jhunjhunu. Despite medical efforts, Hotki succumbed to her injuries during treatment, bringing the death toll to three.
Four children remain in critical condition, fighting for their lives. Sanjay, Sanjeet, and Sunil have been referred to Jaipur for specialized care due to their grave injuries, while Ravina continues to receive treatment at BDK Hospital.
Community Outrage and Police Action
Following the accident, enraged family members and villagers apprehended the trailer driver at the scene and administered severe physical punishment before police intervention. Authorities have since taken the truck driver into custody for further investigation.
The tragedy sparked immediate protests, with angry locals blocking the road in demonstration. Police officials managed to clear the blockage after engaging in persuasion and dialogue with the community members.
