Congress leaders explained that the symbolic act was intended to draw attention to the sharp rise in petrol, diesel, and other essential commodity prices. Party workers alleged that inflation continues to strain household budgets, yet the government has failed to provide relief to the common man.

The protest march traversed key areas of the city and concluded at the tehsildar's office, where Congress workers raised slogans against the central government and submitted a memorandum demanding measures to curb inflation.
