In a significant operation against drug trafficking, the Kanpur police carried out a large-scale raid in the Kidwai Nagar area early Friday morning. The operation, which began around 5 a.m., involved 150 police personnel, including 35 female officers, who searched 70 to 75 houses in the locality.

Operation Details

The police detained 10 suspects during the raids and began interrogating them. According to officials, the primary objective was to dismantle the active drug trafficking network operating in the area and apprehend its kingpins. Authorities have identified a couple of local criminals as key operators of the drug trade.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the network was involved in supplying narcotics not only within the city but also to surrounding districts. During the searches, police gathered crucial intelligence and leads from multiple locations, which will guide further actions.

DCP (South) Deependra Nath Chaudhary stated that the campaign against drug trafficking will continue relentlessly. “Anyone found connected to this network will be arrested and sent to jail,” he added.
