Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah: Congress Fulfilled 242 Promises, Launches Rs 298 Cr Projects
Karnataka CM Highlights Guarantee Schemes Success in Hassan

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah declared a historic achievement for the Congress government in Karnataka, stating that all its pre-poll guarantee schemes were successfully implemented within the first year of its term. He made these remarks during a public event in Hassan district, where development projects worth a substantial Rs 298 crore were inaugurated and benefits were distributed to numerous beneficiaries.

A Year of Delivering on Promises

Addressing a gathering organized by the Hassan district administration and zilla panchayat, the Chief Minister provided a detailed account of his government's performance. He emphasized that the administration is acutely aware of the local political and developmental issues in Hassan and is addressing them appropriately. Siddaramaiah revealed that the Congress party had made a total of 492 promises before the elections. Notably, he stated that 242 of these promises have been fulfilled in the two and a half years since the government assumed power.

"During our tenure from 2013 to 2018 and from 2023 to the present, we made sincere efforts to fulfil all promises made by the Congress government," the CM asserted, linking the current administration's work to its previous term.

Major Developments and Future Plans for Hassan

The event in Hassan was not just about reviewing past achievements but also about launching future-oriented projects. A significant tourism-focused proposal was presented by District Minister Krishna Byre Gowda. The proposal involves constructing a large park spread across 700 acres near the Hemavati reservoir to boost tourism in the region. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah assured the audience that this proposal would be reviewed and a decision would be taken promptly.

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, who was also present, credited Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda for enabling the implementation of the government's sixth guarantee scheme, the 'land guarantee'. Shivakumar added that many long-pending tasks in the district have been completed and that Hassan is now firmly on a path of progress with several programmes in the pipeline.

The Road Ahead for Karnataka

The government's focus, as outlined by the leadership, remains on consolidating the gains from its flagship guarantee schemes and ensuring that large-scale development projects reach every district. The claims made in Hassan underscore the ruling party's attempt to build a narrative of promise versus delivery as it approaches the midpoint of its current term. The successful rollout of the welfare schemes, coupled with the inauguration of hundreds of crores worth of infrastructure projects, is positioned as evidence of the administration's commitment to inclusive development across Karnataka.
