Kavitha Demands Pawan Kalyan Return 10 Acres of Shikam Land

Hyderabad: Kalvakuntla Kavitha, the chief of the Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS), demanded that Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan return 10 acres of land he purchased in Kodikunta lake, as it falls under Shikam land and within the Full Tank Level (FTL).

Allegations of Illegal Land Purchase

Speaking at a press conference at her Banjara Hills office on Saturday, Kavitha stated, "Pawan Kalyan must return the 10 acres of land he bought in Telangana in 2014 to the state government immediately." She alleged that the AP deputy CM purchased the land shortly after staging an 11-day fast opposing the formation of Telangana. According to Kavitha, the land is classified as Shikam land, which is protected under revenue records as it lies within the FTL of a recognized water body.

Discrepancies in Land Records

Kavitha claimed that during the registration process, deliberate discrepancies were introduced to show that only 3 acres fell under the Shikam category. "This is an outright lie. We possess proofs, and I am certain the government does too. We demand that the state government initiate immediate proceedings, seize the land back, and compensate Pawan Kalyan under standard terms, just as they would treat any ordinary farmer," she said.

Criticism of HYDRAA

The TRS leader also accused the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) of adopting dual standards in dealing with lake encroachments. She alleged that the agency acts as a tool to oppress the poor and middle class while shielding ultra-wealthy corporate violators. "When we staged a protest against Sri Aditya Vantage, the agency tried to malign us, but we hit back with hard, indisputable facts. To this day, HYDRAA has not taken a single step toward penalizing that project," she added.

Kavitha's demands come amid ongoing tensions over land and water body protections in Telangana. She urged the state government to take swift action to reclaim the land and ensure compliance with revenue laws.
