Kerala CM Vijayan Slams Congress as BJP's 'B-Team', Criticizes Rahul Gandhi
Kerala CM Vijayan: Congress is BJP's 'B-Team', Rahul Gandhi 'Incapable'

Kerala Chief Minister Launches Fierce Attack on Congress Leadership

In a strongly worded political critique, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has accused the Congress party and its prominent leader Rahul Gandhi of functioning as the "B-team of BJP." The sharp remarks were delivered during an exclusive interview with PTI on Saturday, where Vijayan did not mince words in his assessment of the opposition party's political strategy.

Vijayan Questions Rahul Gandhi's Political Acumen

The veteran communist leader specifically targeted Rahul Gandhi, suggesting he belongs to a category of individuals who are "normally incapable of grasping things." Vijayan elaborated, "Some people don't learn even if they see or experience something. They are not normal people. They are a rare phenomenon. That is something that happens to those who are normally incapable of grasping things. Rahul Gandhi falls into that category."

Vijayan pointed to Rahul Gandhi's allegations against former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal regarding the excise policy case as evidence of this political blindness. "It was a heavy blow to the face of the Congress leadership, including Rahul Gandhi," Vijayan stated, referencing the court's dismissal of the accusations and clean chit to Kejriwal. "Despite that, it is pathetic that he is repeating the same thing. That is why I said they do not learn from what they have seen and experienced."

Congress Accused of BJP Alignment at Multiple Levels

The Kerala Chief Minister expanded his criticism to encompass broader political alliances, claiming that the Congress and its United Democratic Front (UDF) coalition in Kerala have transformed into a faction with no reservations about partnering with the BJP. "The Congress and UDF have become a faction that has no hesitation in allying with the BJP," Vijayan asserted, adding that both parties frequently employ similar tactics to oppose his Left Democratic Front (LDF) government.

On the contentious issue of communal politics, Vijayan took a firm stance, declaring, "One must be able to take a strong stand against it. That is the speciality of the stand we take. We will not compromise with any communal force. We are against all communalism." He carefully distinguished between religious organizations and communal forces, clarifying, "Religious organisations and communalism are two different things. It is communal forces that should be opposed."

Addressing Local Controversies and Central-State Relations

Turning to domestic Kerala issues, Vijayan dismissed opposition claims regarding the Sabarimala gold loss controversy, noting that the Kerala High Court is actively monitoring the investigation. He assured that "anyone involved in the matter would not be spared" and suggested the UDF was exploiting the issue primarily to influence voters ahead of the crucial April 9 Assembly polls.

The Chief Minister also criticized the central government's approach toward Kerala, describing it as hostile on multiple fronts. He specifically labeled BJP state chief Rajeev Chandrasekhar's remarks about central assistance to the state as "nonsense." Vijayan highlighted his administration's ongoing reforms in higher education, aimed at elevating institutional standards to international benchmarks, as evidence of the state government's progressive agenda despite perceived central opposition.

This comprehensive critique from the Kerala Chief Minister comes at a politically sensitive juncture, with state elections approaching and national political alignments being scrutinized. Vijayan's comments reflect deepening political divisions and strategic positioning ahead of the electoral contest, while reinforcing his government's ideological commitments against what he perceives as communal forces and opportunistic political alliances.
