Khanna Police Arrest 10 in Anti-Drug Operation

Ludhiana: In a major crackdown on drug peddling and anti-social activities, the Khanna police registered eight cases and arrested 10 individuals during a special operation conducted in hotspot areas across the district.

Operation Details

More than 80 police personnel were deployed in each sub-division, forming multiple teams that carried out coordinated checks at 15 sensitive locations. During the operation, 84 suspects were verified and 56 vehicles were inspected. The police stated that the operation focused on suspicious movements and known trouble spots, leading to the arrest of several accused and the seizure of narcotics.

Recoveries Made

The recoveries included 80 intoxicant tablets, two grams of ICE, 19.2 grams of heroin, and six grams of intoxicant powder.

Sustained Campaign Against Drugs

The Superintendent of Police (SSP) said that the action was part of a sustained campaign against drugs and crime. Since January 1, 2026, the Khanna police have registered 598 cases and arrested 782 accused persons in various criminal cases, particularly those linked to drug trafficking. He added that substantial quantities of heroin, opium, cannabis, intoxicant tablets, and capsules were seized during this period, along with drug money exceeding Rs 5.35 lakh.
