Chandigarh: Union minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday said 40 villages in the Karnal parliamentary constituency would be developed as model villages. The constituency, represented by Khattar, spans Karnal and Panipat districts.
Announcement during outreach programme
He made the announcement during his three-day outreach programme to review development and other projects started by the state and Union government. During the day, Khattar held back-to-back review meetings and public interaction programmes. He met representatives at the Karnal Zila Parishad office, reviewing the progress of development projects and welfare schemes. He instructed officials to implement schemes in an effective, transparent and time-bound manner.
Adopted villages and monitoring
The minister has adopted nearly four dozen villages in the constituency, where he personally monitors development works, including setting up e-libraries and gymnasiums. Karnal MLA Jagmohan Anand said Khattar's close monitoring of both small and major issues not only strengthens the organisation but also helps accelerate development.
