Kolkata Parking Clash Injures Four, Including Child

Kolkata: A violent clash broke out over illegal parking outside a barber shop on Bijoy Bose Road in Kalighat on Monday night, leaving four people injured, including a four-year-old child. The altercation began around 9:45 pm when a group of residents protested against the barber shop owner for allowing customers to park vehicles illegally outside the shop, blocking the pathway. The argument quickly escalated into a physical fight, with the shop owner and his family allegedly attacking the protesting residents and pushing them violently.

Injuries and Police Complaints

Among the injured were a resident, his father, his brother—who sustained a cut on his face—and a four-year-old child. In their police complaint, the victims claimed that the shop owners threatened them with dire consequences before fleeing the scene. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital, where they received treatment and were later discharged.

Counter-Complaint by Shop Owner

The shop owner also registered a complaint, alleging that he and his family were wrongfully restrained, heckled, and assaulted. He claimed that he fell to the ground during the scuffle and that both he and his wife sustained injuries. The owner was taken to SSKM Hospital, where he was treated and released.
