KTR Hails HC Verdict on Kaleshwaram, Slams Congress for 'False Narratives'
KTR: HC Verdict Ends Congress Misinfo on Kaleshwaram Project

BRS Leader Declares Victory as Court Verdict Exposes 'Congress Conspiracies'

In a significant political development, BRS working president KT Rama Rao has asserted that the Telangana High Court's verdict on the PC Ghose commission has decisively ended what he termed a sustained misinformation campaign orchestrated by Congress leaders, including Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, over the past two and a half years. Addressing the media at Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad, KTR declared that the project itself has not collapsed, but rather the "false narratives and conspiracies of Congress have collapsed."

Court Order Validates BRS Stance, Says Former Minister

KTR, who previously served as a minister in the Telangana government, characterized the High Court's decision as a decisive victory for the people of Telangana and its farming community. He emphasized that truth has ultimately prevailed over what he described as politically motivated false propaganda. The BRS leader stated that his party had consistently maintained that Congress was deliberately targeting the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project, and the court verdict now stands as concrete proof of those claims.

KTR alleged that the commission's report was essentially a politically motivated document, crafted to undermine the project's credibility. He called upon the Congress government to immediately cease politicizing the critical irrigation initiative and instead focus all efforts on restoring and operationalizing it. The former minister advised the administration to shift its attention from what he called "cheap publicity" to substantive governance and necessary repairs.

Project Scale and Repair Costs Highlighted

Providing specific details about the project's condition, KTR noted that within the massive Rs 94,000 crore Kaleshwaram project, only limited structural damage had occurred, requiring repairs estimated at approximately Rs 400 crore. He made a striking allegation that even when the contracting agency was willing to undertake these repairs, it was deliberately obstructed, suggesting an organized conspiracy to portray the entire project as having completely collapsed.

"Falsehood cannot overshadow the truth indefinitely," KTR asserted, adding that the significance of Kaleshwaram for Telangana's irrigation needs has once again been reaffirmed through the judicial process. He criticized what he termed 'reckless propaganda' by Congress, including public demonstrations designed to mislead people about the project's actual condition.

Allegations of Political Nexus Against Telangana

The BRS leader escalated his criticism by accusing both the Congress and BJP of jointly targeting the Kaleshwaram project and undermining Telangana's irrigation infrastructure and farmers' future. He claimed the court order has exposed this alleged political nexus. KTR specifically questioned why the NDA government at the center, which had shown concern about the project earlier, remained silent after the change in state government, and why no reports were sought regarding damages that occurred after Congress came to power.

KTR issued a direct appeal to the Congress government to immediately bring the project back into full operation and resume water lifting without further delay. He stated that if the government has grievances against BRS leaders, it is free to conduct any number of inquiries, but should not harm farmers in the process by delaying essential irrigation works.

Sharp Criticism of BJP Leadership

In a separate but related attack, KTR criticized the BJP, alleging that it shares what he described as a 'Fevicol-like' bond with Congress in Telangana. Reacting to Union Minister Bandi Sanjay's allegations about money bags being delivered to Congress leaders, KTR questioned whether it is not the responsibility of the Union Home Ministry to seize such illegal funds if they exist.

KTR advised Bandi Sanjay to remember that he is a Union minister and to stop speaking like a corporator in the streets of Karimnagar. Instead, he urged the BJP leader to behave in a manner befitting his constitutional position and focus on substantive governance issues rather than what he characterized as street-level political rhetoric.

The BRS working president's comprehensive media address represents a significant political counteroffensive following the High Court verdict, positioning the judicial decision as validation of his party's longstanding defense of the Kaleshwaram project while mounting a multi-pronged attack on both the ruling Congress and opposition BJP in Telangana.
