The existing management committee of the Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Kshetra has declared the recent announcement of new office-bearers for the 2026-27 term by the Akhila Bharatha Billava Union as invalid and lacking any court directive.
Committee's Stance on Announcement
Padmaraj R, addressing reporters at the temple premises on Saturday, stated that no court has issued any order regarding the temple committee. He accused certain individuals of spreading false information and emphasized that the temple belongs to the community.
The present committee is making sincere efforts to ensure that the temple becomes a community temple under the Akhila Bharatha Billava Union in the future, he added.
Supreme Court Ruling and Current Administration
Padmaraj noted that although the Supreme Court had previously ruled in favor of the Billava Union and issued directions concerning the temple, the union has not taken responsibility for administration, festivals, or religious programs. According to him, the current management board continues to oversee temple festivals and related activities.
The existing committee remains committed to the temple's operations and is working towards the community's interests. The controversy highlights ongoing tensions between the current management and the Billava Union over the temple's governance.
