Ludhiana MC Holds Zonal Meetings to Fast-Track Development, Resolve Grievances
Ludhiana MC Zonal Meetings Boost Development Works

In a significant push to accelerate urban development and address public concerns, the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation conducted coordinated meetings across all its administrative zones on Thursday. The initiative aimed at streamlining civic works and providing immediate solutions to issues faced by local councillors and residents.

Zonal Commissioners Lead Ground-Level Reviews

The meetings were spearheaded by the zonal commissioners of the civic body in their respective jurisdictions. Abhishek Sharma convened the meeting for Zone A at the MC office, while Neeraj Jain led the discussions for Zone B. Similarly, Gurpal Singh and Jasdev Sekhon chaired the meetings for Zone C and Zone D offices, respectively.

These gatherings saw the participation of councillors from various areas under each zone. Reflecting a collaborative approach, councillors from different political parties were invited, emphasizing the non-partisan goal of the city's overall development.

Political Leadership and Official Directives

The meetings garnered attention from prominent political figures and senior civic officials. Ludhiana North MLA Madan Lal Bagga and Atam Nagar MLA Kulwant Singh Sidhu were present, along with senior deputy mayor Rakesh Prashar and deputy mayor Prince Johar. They issued necessary directions to the officials present to ensure effective follow-up.

Municipal Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal outlined a structured plan for continuous monitoring. He directed the zonal commissioners to hold fortnightly meetings with councillors. This regular interaction is mandated for the proper supervision of development projects and the timely resolution of any emerging issues.

Focus on Accountability and Field Visits

Commissioner Dachalwal set clear expectations for accountability and efficiency. The zonal commissioners have been instructed to submit detailed proceedings of their meetings to his office. He warned that no laxity would be tolerated in the execution of development works.

Officials were also directed to move beyond the office and conduct regular field visits. This on-ground assessment is crucial for understanding the real situation and ensuring projects align with residents' needs. The current focus areas for the civic body include:

  • Ensuring sustained cleanliness across the city.
  • Expediting all pending and ongoing development works.
  • Providing hassle-free civic services to the public.

This concerted effort by the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation marks a proactive step towards improving governance and infrastructure delivery. By institutionalizing regular dialogues between officials, public representatives, and residents, the civic body aims to create a more responsive and effective urban administration.
